Diagnosing cavities in the back of the mouth using traditional methods is difficult; studies even show that 50% of cavities are left undetected in these areas until reaching a certain size. However, today’s technologies enable the location of these cavities to put a stop to progression of decay. CariVu is a cavity-detection device that utilizes LED fluorescence to identify the earliest stages of decay, which more conventional techniques may not reveal. CariVu works by measuring light refraction on your teeth and is completely safe for all patients.
